The Banks Collection -
Japanese Pattern Dirks
Over the last thirty years, Ken Banks, a noted Japanese sword and armor collector, has assembled one of the most complete collections of Japanese Pattern Dirks. This book represents examples from the Restoration Era though WWII,. Each represented piece has Ken’s notes (in English). This is the first known book that’s dedicated solely to Japanese Pattern Dirks. This is Kens collection of over forty dirks, professionally photographed in a larger 8.5’’x1’’ format, and all in full color. Featuring dirks from the Army, Navy, Dept. of Agriculture, Imperial Forestry, Police Dept., Fire Bureau, Colonial/Occupied Territories, the Red Cross, and Government Railways - with descriptions of each. There is even a Naval Dirk check list to alert you to some of the numerous variations you may encounter.
